After pickup from your hotel, travel through Jamaican towns, farming communities and countryside on the way to historic Black River in St. Elizabeth. At J. Charles Swaby’s Black River Safari, board a covered sightseeing boat and begin a guided journey along the calm river.
Cruise through a rich wetland environment surrounded by mangroves and tropical vegetation. Your captain will explain the ecological importance of the Black River Morass and share information about the animals, plants and communities connected to the river.
Watch carefully for American crocodiles resting near the riverbanks or moving through the water. The wetlands are also home to numerous tropical and migratory birds, making the experience enjoyable for wildlife lovers, photographers and families.
